As many of you have had a bad experience buying the Eken Tablet on Ebay or directly from the Chinese web sites that sell this product.....we also have had a bit of a problem with that.

Initially we have bought one as a sample to test our Linpais version of the Google Android, the MID we had is a M001, we where quite disappointed with the shipping and we returned one sample because of malfunctions on the Touch screen, (which was not an OS fault, hence an hardware problem).

When we then received the second tablet, ( after more than a month from the day we settle a payment for the first sample), and we finally started testing first the OS that come with it we where left speachless. This manufacturer like many others had made some changes at the original Firmware that should be installed in such a MID.



1- First of all the battery doesn't last enough.
2- Impossible to play any video format, no even the most simple available today.
3- Audio file would paly and shuffle after less than a minute without any imput from the user.
4- No Market Place for Downloading new applications.
5- Most of the Setting where still in Chinese, so not accessible to any European user.
6- Too many useless applications, (again, many of them still in chinese language).
7- No you tube application, (and if installed, unable to open the stream pages).

This "patch", the linpais Android 1.6, is dedicate to all the people that have gone through all this troubles. Flash your Mid with the script and enjoy it.

If you had in mind to return your MID wait untill you see Linpais in action, you might want to change your mind and keep it.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL IT FOR NON "Nerds".

Download the Archive from our Web site or follow this link: http://linpais.com/linpais_android.html, extract the archive to your SD card, (for peace of mind format the card first), please make sure if you format the SD card that you don't have anything important on it, once you have formatted the card everything that was there will be gone for ever. It is always a good thing to keep an old 512mb / 1GB SD card only for this purposes. Make sure you MID is connected with the power adaptor to the main electricity soket and the power button is on, (in the event that you are flashing the MID running on battery and the battery runs out of power in the meantime you will not be able to finish the job and most probably will not be able to use your MID anymore because the all file System and configuration will be coruupted. Insert the SD card and turn the power on. That's it, just follow the on screen messages that will tell you exactely what the script is doing, at this point you don't need to do anything. Eventually the MID will ask you to extract the SD card and will rebbot with the new OS firmware.
